Gemini is a traditional style cycling club, regularly organizing and assisting with the operation of several cycle events each year. The club currently has approximately 60 members many of whom regularly compete in cycle competitions.
Road racing (the most popular discipline):
In 2007 Gemini riders competed in South East Road Race League (based mainly in Kent), Surrey League, Eastern Road League, Crystal Palace and LVRC events. A Gemini team has competed in a stage race in France for the last seven years. Typically, an early season training camp in the south of England is organized along with a trip to a training camp in Valencia with Marcel Wust. In 2007, the club organised two rounds of the SERRL. (Previously we have run Surrey League and LVRC day races).
Time Trials:
During the summer months a series of local time trials are run to create a championship, which provides excellent training for all cycling disciplines. Riders participate in RTTC and KCA events. The club assists in the organisation of an open "test" in Kent.
Off Road:
Riders have participated in a number of the "Red Bull" 24-hour events as well as other single day races such as SAMS. Randonees: A number of our senior members regularly visit France to sample cycling (food and wine)in style as it ought to be.
Track:
The boards at Herne Hill fleetingly see the wheels of club members.
Keen, but lacking race experience? Do not be put off. Club membership includes "Fourth Cats" to Elite status (and former 'Le Tour' and 'Giro') riders.
